Baron von Bebra German Shepherd Dog Young Male in Dockweiler, California

My story
Baron von Bebra is a striking-looking, 10–11 month-old, long-haired Shepherd mix.

Baron is an easy-going, goofy boy who just loves to hang out with people and get love.

He may be a bit shy at first but, once he becomes comfortable, he is all about getting as much affection as he can.

We know he' beautiful, but we're not sure what his mix is, but he may have some Border Collie or Australian Shepherd or even Great Pyrenees, given his unique coloring (no guarantees!).

He already knows some of his basic commands – sit and down – and how to take treats gently.

No doubt he’s a fast learner and would love a family who can make sure he’s active and stimulated!

Come meet Baron!

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Baron von Bebra, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
